Oracle Database 11g coming to Amazon RDSWe are excited to announce our plans to make Oracle Database 11g available via the Amazon Relational Database Service during the second quarter of 2011. Amazon RDS already makes it easier to set up, operate, and scale MySQL databases in the cloud. In the coming months you will also be able to run Oracle Databases via Amazon RDS, simplifying database provisioning and offloading common administration tasks like backups and software patching. If you have existing Oracle Database licenses, you will be able to apply them to run Oracle Databases on Amazon RDS with no additional software licensing or support charges. If you don’t, you can take advantage of pay-by-the-hour licensing with no upfront fees or long-term commitments.
